TYPES AND THE HABITAT OF LOBSTER
Like any other living creature, lobster
also has its own
habitat. Gated like
they like, or how they are to look for
food. According moosa
and aswandy (1984)
and kaciruk (1980),
life habitat of
each species of lobster are as follows:
1.
P. homarus. This lobster inhabits
shallow waters to depths of tens of meters and live in holes in granite and
volcanic rocks. Young lobster has a considerable tolerance toward moderate
turbidity, while adults prefer the clear waters.
2.
P. penicillatus. Prefer to inhabit
the shallow waters adjacent to the coral reef, the part that is always exposed
to the pounding surf. The species is happy refuge in the rocks and do not like
having impaired waters (turbulance) and turbidity caused by sea sand.
3.
P. longipes.
There is a reef in
the clear waters with depths greater than
18 meters to shallower
waters (± 1 m) at the base durbor, Australia. While
the South sea Java (Indonesia), this
species inhabits a
bit sheltered and
loved the oceanic waters. Lobster species
that live in the
holes and rocks
or coral rose
at night to find food.
4.
P. polyphagus. This lobster
inhabits the murky waters and are often
found on the muddy sea floor. Live in rather deep waters.
5.
P. versicolor.
This species does not inhabit the murky bottom
waters and prefers strong tidal areas. The
species is also found around
coral reefs to a depth of several meters and
inhabit sheltered places among the rocks. This
species is rarely seen in many groups.
6.
P. ornatus. Lobster which appear at
the bottom of the muddy and murky waters.
This species of coral reef waters are rather shallow and
is also found in the
water a little murky.
That is the area where corals can not grow well.
